Vets are forcing poisonous worming and flee treatments onto their clients. Even catching them right on their first puppy appointments signing them up for monthly subscriptions to these poisons. £££££
Would you take antibiotics if you didn't have a throat infection, just incase you got one? Hell No!
So why would you give parasite control poisons if your dog has no parasites?? well you wouldn't, hopefully.
If you have educated yourself on the natural methods of worming and are following protocol properly the chances of your dog picking up a parasite are slim. But to be sure we use a Faecal Worm Count.
Worm Counting is a process we do regularly which gives you peace of mind that your dogs are parasite free.
Worm counting is where you take a sample of your dogs stool and send it off to the lab to be analysed and checked for traces of worms or eggs.
We are now stocking these Worm Count Kits in store and on our website and they couldn't be easier to use.
Step 1) Open your kit which contains, Log Book for you to fill out all yours and your dogs details. Disposable Gloves, Disposable wooden spoon, Smell proof sample bag and pre paid envelope.
Step 2) Using the spoon if necessary, take a small sample of your dogs poo and pop it into the smell proof bag and close it up securely.
Step 3) Fill out all yours and your dogs details on the log book.
Step 4) Place the poo and the log book into the pre paid envelope and post it in your local post box.
Step 5) Your sample will be tested in the laboratory and you will receive either a text or email communication to tell you the results.
It is advised to do a worm count every 3 months for puppies and active working dogs and then once your confident that your natural controls are working, 6 months then on for normal healthy adult dogs.
Make sure you test for the Lung Worm too as this one is particularly nasty and needs a separate type of testing!
If your test comes back positive, then you can choose to use the chemical treatments to kill the parasites, or follow various natural ways to remove them.
